Tulsa livestock auction reportThe Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,172 head July 23, compared to 2,334 head last week and 2,200 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, stocker steers were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder steers were steady to $2 higher, with the most strength shown on weights over 700 pounds. Stocker and feeder heifers were steady. There was a good attendance of buyers, with active trade. Weigh-ups were average. Receipts consisted of 52% steers, heifers 40%, bulls 7% with 41% feeders over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Demand good on fleshier cows. A total of 232 cows and bulls sold with 51% going to packers.
