Texhoma cattle market reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts 600 head Aug. 1, compared to 430 head last week and 924 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $1 higher. Feeder heifers were $1 to $2 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to gaunt. The supply consisted of 45% steers, 55% heifers with 90% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady to $1 higher. A total of 60 cows and bulls sold with 75% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 372 to 386 lbs., 141.00 to 150.00 (143.19); 8 head, 508 to 546 lbs., 130.00 to 133.00 (131.45); 6 head, 570 lbs., 125.00; 5 head, 653 lbs., 119.00; 778 to 791 lbs., 115.75 to 116.00 (115.93); 853 to 861 lbs., 109.00 to 114.25 (113.73). Medium and large frame 2, 4 head, 475 lbs., 129.00; 4 head, 586 lbs., 120.50; 5 head, 603 lbs., 118.50; 4 head, 756 lbs., 116.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 564 lbs., 107.00; 741 to 745 lbs., 109.50 to 110.75 (110.35); 154 head, 771 lbs., 107.75 to 109.25 (108.54). Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 383 lbs., 121.00; 10 head, 629 lbs., 108.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 3 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1400 lbs., 53.00 to 54.50. Boners, 17 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1075 to 1325 lbs., 51.00 to 55.50; low dressing, 49.50 to 51.00. Lean, 13 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 49.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.75 to 58.75; low dressing, 47.00 to 49.00. Light, 6 head, 85 to 90% lean, 725 to 750 lbs., 43.00 to 44.50; low dressing, 41.00 to 43.00.
