St. Joseph feeder pigs

The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., reported receipts of 300 head July 31, compared to 563 head last week and 16 head last year, according to the USDA to Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, St. Joseph, Mo.

Compared to last week, feeder pigs under 50 pounds sold $1 to $2 higher, with 50 to 60 pound pigs selling $6 lower. The bulk of the feeder pigs weighing 35 to 55 pounds. Prices paid per head on actual weights.

U.S. 1 to 2: string 35 lbs., 29.00; string 45 lbs., 44.00; string 52 lbs., 44.00; string 51 lbs., 35.00 hothouse.

U.S. 1 to 3: package 83 lbs., 40.00.
