South Central sheep sales

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending July 27, showed receipts of 1,800 feeder lambs, and 100 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter lambs, Slaughter ewes and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats, kids, were $5 higher in light test. Trading and demand were moderate. Rain throughout the area has slowed trade this week.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 1800 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 100.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 100 head, Selection 1 to 2, 60 lbs., 100.00.
