Sioux Falls feeder pigs

The Sioux Falls feeder pig auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported receipts of 990 head July 24, compared to 920 head two weeks ago and 1,392 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared with two weeks ago, feeder pigs sold mostly $2 to $4 lower with a few reputation consignments selling fully steady. Very hot, dry weather conditions continue over most of the tri-state area. All sales based on actual weight and by the head.

U.S. 1 to 2: 69 head, 18 lbs., 18.00; 79 head, 29 lbs., 25.50; 19 head, 34 lbs., 27.50; 45 to 46 lbs., 34.00 to 38.50 (37.31); 51 to 52 lbs., 38.50 to 39.50 (39.09); 53 head, 57 lbs., 43.00; 95 head, 63 lbs., 47.00 reputation; 71 to 72 lbs., 44.00; 150 head, 77 lbs., 44.00 to 47.50 (46.47); 110 head, 83 lbs., 52.50 reputation; 41 head, 109 lbs., 59.50 reputation.

U.S. 1 to 3: 51 to 52 lbs., 35.00 to 36.50 (36.20).
