High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending July 29, totaled 210,524 head, compared to 210,055 head last week and 147,329 head last year, according to the USDA-Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 3,654 head, 1,300 to 1,475 lbs., 87.50 to 91.00 (89.41); 65 to 80% Choice, 9,486 head, 1,200 to 1,450 lbs., 88.00 to 91.50 (89.82); 35 to 65% Choice, 41,414 head, 1,050 to 1,450 lbs., 87.50 to 91.50 (90.90); 0 to 35% Choice, 3,837 head, 1,100 to 1,400 lbs., 88.00 to 91.50 (90.84).
