Faith cattle sales report
The Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 75 head July 23, compared to 307 head last week and 750 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Trends were not applicable since the last reported sale was June 25. Receipts shortened by the extreme heat. Monday, August 6 will be a special yearling sale along with the regular cattle sale. Feeder cows: Large frame 1, 1441 to 1527 lbs., 50.75 to 53.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 years old, 1040 lbs., 77.00; young, 1190 lbs., 58.50; middle aged, 1231 to 1370 lbs., 50.50 to 54.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1500 to 1790 lbs., 53.00 to 55.50. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1035 to 2170 lbs., 60.25 to 65.50; high dressing, 66.25 to 66.50; low dressing, 55.50 to 59.00. 7/30/07 Date: 7/26/07
