Dodge City cattle sales report
Receipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., July 18, totaled 2,883 head, compared to 2,689 head, last week and 2,490 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, feeder steers at 300 to 600 pounds and heifers at 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for a market test, but a higher undertone was noted. Steers at 600 to 900 pounds were firm to $1 higher, and 900 to 950 pounds were weak to $3 lower. Feeder heifers at 700 to 900 pounds were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Receipts included 85% 600 pounds and over, 9% 600 pounds and under, 6% slaughter cows and bulls with 167 head, early. The feeder supply included 64% steers and 36% heifers.
