South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Aug. 17, showed receipts of 1,500 feeder lambs, and 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were no slaughter lambs. Slaughter and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meats goats were steady. Trading and demand were moderate.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 1500 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 96.00 to 100.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00, mostly 100.00.
