Dalhart livestock sales reportThe Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,016 head Aug. 16, compared to 1,069 head last week and 1,098 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Trade and demand were moderate. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 850-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 90% and slaughter cows and bulls 10%. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 47% of the run, heifers 53%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 33%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 165.00 to 168.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 135.00 to 138.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 119.00 to 121.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 115.50 to 117.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 109.00 to 112.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, three packages 240 to 253 lbs., 141.00 to 155.00; three packages 314 to 359 lbs., 138.00 to 145.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00; package 545 lbs., 117.50; lot 611 lbs., 113.75. Medium and large frame 2, package 450 lbs., 110.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 100.00 to 100.50. Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, two packages 318 to 330 lbs., 131.00 to 141.00; package 420 lbs., fancy 126.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 109.00 to 111.50; lot 850 lbs., 103.00; package 998 lbs., 94.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 230 lbs., 139.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 126.00 to 130.50; load 407 lbs., 118.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 104.00 to 107.50; package 688 lbs., 100.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1500 to 1600 lbs., 53.50 to 55.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1500 lbs., 52.50 to 53.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 51.00 to 55.00; 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1000 lbs., 50.50 to 52.00; low dressing, 47.50 to 50.00. Holstein cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1500 to 1800 lbs., 55.50 to 57.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1200 to 1800 lbs., 53.00 to 57.00.
