Case IH Boom

BOOM OPTION--Case IH, Racine, Wis., introduces a new 120-foot boom option for the Case IH Patriot 4420 self-propelled sprayer. The additional weight of the 120-foot boom doesn't significantly affect the Patriot's optimum axle weight distribution, minimizing soil compaction and rutting and optimizing horsepower utilization through the drive system. The inner, mid and outer sections of the new 120-foot boom are all constructed of tube steel; only the breakaway section is made of aluminum. The inner and mid-boom sections have larger steel tubing than either the 90- or 100-foot boom. The new boom also features a 44" vertical cross section. The 120-foot boom uses a three-stage suspension system to absorb energy from field loads. In addition, Case IH uses a "center pivot boom" design that allows the boom to be more independent of the frame. For more information, call a local Case IH dealer, or visit Case IH.
