'07-'08 Limousin Junior Board begins term of service

The 2007-2008 North American Limousin Junior Association Board of Directors took office July 27 at the conclusion of the National Junior Limousin Show and Congress awards banquet in West Monroe, La.

Mindin Ferguson, Wheatland, Calif., returns for her second two-year term on the Board. New members are Shayla Carmichael, Richmond, Ky.; Thadd Fosdick, Chenoa, Ill.; Katie Hefner, Seminole, Okla.; and Cassidy Woodard, Calhan, Colo.

Stephen Getz, Scherr, W.Va.; Corinne Harrison, Minier, Ill.; Alissa Johnson, Ashton, Iowa; Kelvin Moreno, Venus, Fla.; and Kayleesue Patton, Hillsboro, Ohio, begin the second year of their current terms.

The NALJA "electoral college" selected Harrison as president for the coming year. The Board then elected its remaining officers: vice president, Moreno; secretary, Ferguson; treasurer, Johnson; and historian, Patton. As immediate past president, Rachel Wulf, Morris, Minn., will continue to serve as an ex officio member of the Board.

Emily Davis-Taylor, Kenton, Tenn.; Cassie Johnson, Cushing, Iowa; and James Bohi, Wellsville, Kan., retired from the Board at the banquet.

The North American Limousin Foundation (www.nalf.org), headquartered in Centennial, Colo., provides programs and services--including genetic evaluation of 5,000 active sires--to more than 4,000 members and their commercial customers. The Limousin breed and its Lim-Flex hybrid lead the beef industry in muscle-growth efficiency and ideally complement British breeds.
