Pratt 3 p.m. cattle sales

The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kan., Aug. 16 reported estimated receipts of 2,500 head, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture--USDA Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, feeder steers and heifers under 600 pounds were not enough for a market test. Feeder steers 600 to 700 pounds, were not enough for a market test, but a steady undertone was noted. Those weighing 700 to 850 pounds were $2 lower; those weighing 850 to 1,000 pounds were not tested. For heifers at 600 to 650 pounds, there was not enough for a market test, but a steady undertone was noted. Heifers weighing 650 to 800 pounds were steady to $1 lower, while those weighing 800 to 1,000 pounds were not tested.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 617 lbs., 122.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 114.50 to 118.00; 750 to 800 lbs., 113.50 to 116.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 113.75 to 116.85; 68 head, 882 lbs., 112.75; 72 head, 940 lbs., 107.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 600 to 650 lbs., 113.25 to 115.75; 650 to 700 lbs., 112.50 to 115.60; 700 to 750 lbs., 114.00 to 114.10; 750 to 800 lbs., 109.50 to 113.10.
