High Plains slaughter newsHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Aug. 12, totaled 167,128 head, compared to 218,793 head last week and 249,013 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
