Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Aug. 10, reported receipts of 1,928 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,500 head last week and 3,020 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs were steady. Stock and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 250 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 50.00 to 100.00; 60- to 80-lb. ewe lambs 90.00 to 120.00. Dorper bucks, individual 150.00 per head, few 170 to 250 lbs., 50.00 to 60.00. Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 50.00 to 62.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 310.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice: 90 to 110 lbs., 75.00 to 88.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 99.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, few 140 lbs., 35.00. Barbados lambs, 50 to 80 lbs., 80.00 to 99.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 102.00 to 109.00, 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 107.00. Selection 2, 60 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 97.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 42.00 to 55.00.
