Georgia cattle auction summaryThe summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Aug. 10, showed receipts of 10,181 head, compared to 11,771 head last week and 11,645 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to $3 higher, bulls were $1 to $2 higher, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher, steer calves were steady to $3 higher, heifer calves were steady to $2 higher, replacement cows were steady to $3 higher. The offering included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 35% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 27% heifers under 600 pounds, 10% feeder cows, 13% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
