Aberdeen cattle salesThe Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 3,190 head Aug. 15, compared to 1,200 head last week and 4,552 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared with last week, feeder steers and heifers sold fully steady. Demand was good with several consignments offered in load lots. Steers comprised 47% of the run, heifers 53%, with 98% over 600 pounds.
