Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 823 head Aug. 8, compared to 661 head last week and 239 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady. Feeder heifers and all calves were not well tested. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply consisted of 81% steers, 15% heifers with 89% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. A total of 57 cows and bulls sold with 90% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 513 to 514 lbs., 129.00 to 134.00 (132.85); 5 head, 562 to 578 lbs., 117.50 to 122.50 (120.53); 12 head, 757 lbs., 116.00; 79 head, 819 lbs., 112.75; 873 to 893 lbs., 111.10 to 111.75 (111.70); 158 head, 912 lbs., 108.75; 1006 to 1024 lbs., 99.50 to 101.10 (100.12). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 620 lbs., 110.50; 5 head, 787 lbs., 112.50. Small and medium frame 4, 7 head, 717 lbs., 58.00 Corriente; 19 head, 830 lbs., 55.50 Corriente. Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 481 to 485 lbs., 115.00 to 120.00 (117.51); 7 head, 600 lbs., 104.50 calves. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 5 head, 234 lbs., 97.00; 5 head, 335 lbs., 90.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 429 lbs., 120.00; 20 head, 467 to 495 lbs., 112.00 to 118.00 (115.73); 5 head, 610 lbs., 107.50 calves; 14 head, 927 lbs., 90.75; 9 head, 995 lbs., 87.50. Medium and large frame 2, 30 head, 862 lbs., 100.00; 5 head, 901 lbs., 94.50. Slaughter cows: Boners, 7 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1450 lbs., 53.50 to 55.50; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.50. Lean, 8 head, 85 to 90% lean, 950 to 1150 lbs., 52.00; high dressing, 55.50; low dressing, 45.00 to 47.50 Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 32 head, 1375 to 2350 lbs., 64.75 to 68.00; high dressing, 68.50 to 74.50; low dressing, 59.50 to 64.25.
