South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales for the week ending Aug. 3, showed receipts of 3,200 feeder lambs, and 300 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were weak to $4 lower. There were no slaughter lambs. Slaughter and replacement ewes were not tested. Slaughter meat goats, kids, were firm to $5 higher on a light test. Trading and demand were moderate. Some of the lambs traded are lambs that have been wormed earlier and turned back out.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 3200 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 70 to 90 lbs., 96.00 to 100.00.

Slaughter meat goats: Kids, Texas, 300 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00.
