Lexington cattle sales

The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb., reported receipts of 1,100 head Aug. 2, compared to 1,500 head last week, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Compared with two weeks ago, comparable offerings traded firm to $2 dollars higher. Demand was very good for offerings of mostly all yearlings with weigh in conditions in the buyers favor. Trading was very active. The total offerings consisted of 87% steers and 13% heifers, with 99% of the total feeder offerings weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 700 lbs., 120.00; 46 head, 851 lbs., 117.00; 923 to 924 lbs., 114.85 to 116.85 (115.54); 58 head, 961 lbs., 113.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 head, 713 lbs., 116.00; 24 head, 849 lbs., 109.50; 870 to 885 lbs., 108.00 to 111.50 (110.34); 12 head, 937 lbs., 107.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 763 to 790 lbs., 106.00 to 106.50 (106.22); 10 head, 914 lbs., 103.50; 11 head, 964 lbs., 102.50; 24 head, 1031 lbs., 97.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 9 head, 588 to 598 lbs., 113.00 to 114.50 (113.84); 4 head, 685 lbs., 107.00; 2 head, 705 lbs., 105.00; 21 head, 857 lbs., 103.50; 2 head, 950 lbs., 96.00.
