Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas. Aug. 3, reported receipts of 1,500 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,287 head last week and 2,469 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stock and feeder lambs were not tested. Slaughter lambs light weights were $8 to $10 lower, heavy weights were not tested. Stock and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were steady. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 250 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 60.00 to 80.00. Barbados ewes, 60 to 90 lbs., 50.00 to 62.00. Barbados bucks, 100.00 to 150.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 88.00 to 100.00. Slaughter ewes: Good 2 to 3, fleshy, 140 to 150 lbs., 35.00 to 39.00. Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, 100 to 140 lbs., 35.00 to 45.00. Barbados: Lambs, 45 to 75 lbs., 80.00 to 94.00. Ewes, 60 to 80 lbs., 40.00 to 45.00.
