Apache livestock sales reportStockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 3,032 head Aug. 4, compared to 2,721 head last week and 5,959 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were firm to $2 higher. Top grading feeder heifers lightly tested and few sales steady. Steer and heifer calves were $1 to $3 higher. Demand was very good for all classes. Feeder cattle were in slightly thin to moderate flesh conditions. The supply included 72% over 600 pounds, 28% under 600 pounds. The total supply included 49% heifers. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter bulls were steady. Packer demand was moderate to good for light receipts. Demand was good for bred cows and pairs. A total of 289 cows and bulls sold with 35% going to packers.
