Arkansas River Basin Water Forum art and photography contests a

The Arkansas River Basin Water Forum announces the 2007 Art Contest for students in grades K-12 and the Open Photography Contest.

Entries in both divisions will be on display during the Water Forum at the William L. Gobin Building in Rocky Ford, Colo., April 12 and 13.

Winners will be announced during the Water Forum on April 13, at 12:30 during the luncheon. All students entering art will receive certificates of participation.

The theme of the art contest will be "Water-Life of the Arkansas River Valley."

The K-12 Art Contest will include two dimensional flat work, any medium or size, including drawings, paintings, collages, mixed media and digital with grade divisions of K-2, 3- 4, 5-8, 9-12. First, second, third and honorable mentions will be given in each GRADE division.

The Open Photography Contest is open to students and adults for color or black and white, any size prints. (No slides). First prize is $100, second prize is $50 and third prize is $25. The winning photograph will appear on the Forum web page for one year.

All work must be mounted on mat board, tag board, poster board, card stock OR construction paper and labeled on the back with title of work, name, grade, age, address, and phone number.

Submit entries by mail or deliver to: Lower Arkansas Valley Water Conservancy District, 801 Swink Avenue, Rocky Ford, CO 81067 by 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007. Entries will be returned upon request. Local entrants may pick up art works on Friday, April 13, 2007, between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. at the William L. Gobin Building.
