Watertown cattle sales

The South Dakota livestock Sales reported receipts of 1,300 head April 25, compared to 2,000 head last week and 950 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Feeder steers made up 59% of the run, feeder heifers 41%, with 86% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 385 lbs., 132.00; 18 head, 465 lbs., 129.00; 8 head, 521 lbs., 129.00; 11 head, 565 lbs., 125.00; 5 head, 646 lbs., 121.50; 16 head, 667 lbs., 117.50; 20 head, 727 lbs., 113.00; 31 head, 777 lbs., 109.50; 832 to 837 lbs., 103.75 to 104.25 (104.09); 854 to 898 lbs., 102.00 to 105.25 (103.63); 34 head, 1009 lbs., 94.00 fleshy; 12 head, 1159 lbs., 93.10 fleshy. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 13 head, 676 to 686 lbs., 109.00 to 111.00 (109.47); 15 head, 708 to 746 lbs., 111.00 to 111.25 (111.15); 776 to 780 lbs., 104.50 to 107.60 (107.28); 858 to 887 lbs., 101.00 to 101.35 (101.32). Large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 828 lbs., 98.00.
