Vermeer stirs up Hay Baler Line with new Rebel 5410, Netwrap atRoll your own bales, on your own time, with your own round baler and get netwrapped bales too. Vermeer offers hay producers a user-friendly, hitch 'n go hay baler that's sensibly priced and right-sized for lower horsepower tractors. The new Vermeer 5410 Rebel Baler produces 47-inch wide bales, up to 60-inches in diameter and weighing up to 1,000 pounds, depending upon variations in crop types and moisture levels. It's designed with a true-bottom drum design for fast-feeding and high-density bales. It features hydraulic/spring belt tension that's easy to adjust. And, it's easy to operate with a minimum of adjustments required. "It doesn't get any easier than this, says Vermeer Product Manager Jay VanRoekel. "We spoke to our customers and found they really appreciate the baler, but listened to their requests and incorporated features from our proven M-Series to give them what they wanted." For more efficient baling, less fuel usage and reduced time in the field, the 5410 Rebel Baler offers an optional, reliable net wrap system--same basic design as the one used on top-of-the-line Vermeer M Series Balers--which feeds net directly to the main belts. (No rubber feed rollers. No feed belts. No cutting knives.). A combination of brake tension and friction feed (a) maximizes the number of bales per roll (b) maintain tension on the wrap for a clean cut and positive grip for wrapping the next bale and (c) automatically adjusts tension to the size of netwrap roll. By offering this proven netwrap system with a manual/electric tying system Vermeer lowered the initial investment to allow producers into a wrapping system. With a minimum 40 hp tractor, you're ready to roll, even in heavy windrows and rugged hilly terrain. A new, robust, electric center-pivot twine tie system features adjustable, dual feed slots and a double power actuator; plus, it's easy to thread and maintain. Split tailgate design and a rugged spring loaded bale ramp promote quick, dependable bale ejection. Also available on the Rebel 5410, Drop 'n Go baling, which enables you to drop the bale without disengaging the PTO. Optional HaySaver wheels help fill in the comers for better square-shouldered bale shaping. Heavy-duty double tines are rubber-mounted to reduce tine replacement costs and create better spring action. Also available is a new electric controller that can operate the twine tie or net wrap system. This economical choice allows producers a less costly netwrap monitoring system. Another alternative is the ergonomically designed Accu-Bale Select Monitor (optional) that lets you automatically set bale size and twine-tie or netwrap settings and comes with overfill protection, manual override and weather-proof switches with self-diagnostic lights and robust wire harness connectors.
