Texhoma cattle market report

The Texhoma livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,438 head April 26, compared to 570 head last week and 1,658 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady. Feeder heifers were $1 lower. Stocker steers were $2 lower. No test on calves. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to gaunt. The supply was comprised of 65% steers, 33% heifers with 91% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady in a limited test. A total of 90 cows and bulls sold with 26% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 543 lbs., 128.00l; 601 to 646 lbs., 116.00 to 120.00 (116.21); 650 to 695 lbs., 110.50 to 117.50 (112.73); 700 to 723 lbs., 108.50 to 111.50 (110.09); 753 to 771 lbs., 106.00 to 109.25 (107.87); 11 head, 806 lbs., 102.00; 882 to 895 lbs., 96.00 to 97.50 (96.64); 902 to 905 lbs., 96.35 to 96.75 (96.40). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 40 head, 648 lbs., 115.25. Medium and large frame 2, 20 head, 733 lbs., 107.00; 9 head, 831 lbs., 99.75; 5 head, 905 lbs., 94.00. Small and medium frame 4, 6 head, 590 lbs., 95.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 523 lbs., 120.25.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 474 lbs., 120.00; 14 head, 520 to 528 lbs., 115.00 to 117.75 (115.97); 10 head, 551 to 561 lbs., 113.00 to 118.00 (114.48); 653 to 699 lbs., 97.85 to 101.75 (99.36); 10 head, 718 lbs., 98.25; 135 head, 766 lbs., 95.75; 22 head, 825 lbs., 93.50; 25 head, 862 lbs., 93.35. Slaughter cows: Boners, 6 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1450 lbs., 52.00 to 55.00; low dressing, 46.50. Lean, 8 head, 85 to 90% lean, 875 to 1150 lbs., 47.50 to 48.00; low dressing, 44.25 to 47.00. Light, 7 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 925 lbs., 43.25; low dressing, 36.50 to 40.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 3 head, 1575 to 1925 lbs., 61.50; high dressing, 65.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 3 years old, 1100 lbs., 7 to 8 months bred, high blacks, 1150.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 2 to 4 years old, 850 to 950 lbs., with 80- to 200-lb. calves, average blacks, 1175.00 to 1300.00; 4 to 7 years old, 1225 to 1350 lbs, with 150- to 200-lb. calves, high blacks, 1235.00 to 1350.00; 8 to 9 years old, 1075 to 1100 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, average quality, 1010.00 to 1025.00
