Stocks honored by wool industryNew Mexico Chuck Stocks, Albuquerque, was honored with the Shepherd's Voice for Print Media award for his contributions to the sheep and wool industry at an award luncheon held at the 2007 American Sheep Industry Association/National Lamb Feeders Association Convention in San Antonio, Texas. Stocks has been associated with The New Mexico Stockman for 32 years and has been the owner/publisher for 29 years. The New Mexico Stockman is the official publication of the New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association and the New Mexico Wool Growers, Inc. , with more than 12,000 subscribers throughout the West and Southwest. Additionally Stocks publishes the Arizona Catalog for the Arizona Cattle Growers' Association and the livestock Market Digest, a monthly newspaper with a circulation of 16,000. A highlight of the Digest and the Stockman are the directory issues produced each summer. The Digest annually highlights the top 25 people who have made a difference in the livestock industry for the year. "Mr. Stocks continues to provide ready access to his subscribers by publishing articles featuring the New Mexico sheep industry. In addition to providing a gateway to reach his subscribers with NMWGI news, he provides our membership with precise and current information regarding the agricultural industry on a state and national level," commented Mike Corn, NMWGI president.
