Woodward cattle auction sales report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 4,243 head Sept. 15, compared to 4,516 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $2 to $4 lower. Feeder heifers were steady to $3 lower. Steer calves were steady to $4 lower. Heifer calves under 450 pounds were steady, heavier weights were $5 to $7 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Fill was average to full. Quality was average to plain, few attractive calves. The supply was comprised of 55% steers, 38% heifers with 61% over 600 pounds.
