St. Joseph feeder pig auction

The St. Joseph Mo., feeder pig auction reported receipts of 200 head Sept. 19, compared to 107 head last week and 656 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.

Compared to last week, feeder pigs sold mostly steady. Offering of pigs were of good quality with the overwhelming majority weighing 50 to 56 pounds. Prices paid per head on actual weights.

U.S. 1 to 2: 52 to 56 lbs., 48.50 to 51.00; package, 72 lbs., 52.00.

U.S. 2 to 3: package, 30 lbs., 25.00.
