South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending Sept. 15, showed receipts of 5,400 feeder lambs, 400 slaughter ewes ad 1,500 slaughter meat goats, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs firm. Trading and demand were moderate. Trading on lambs for this season is starting to wind down as most lambs have now been sold. There are no recent comparisons on Slaughter ewes, replacement ewes, slaughter meat goats and replacement nannies. Feeder lambs: Texas, 5400 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 60 to 70 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00; 70 to 80 lbs., 102.00 to 106.00; 80 to 85 lbs., 98.00 to 102.00. Slaughter ewes: Texas, 400 head, Utility and Good 1 to 3, 40.00 to 42.00. Slaughter meat goats: Kids, 1500 head, Selection 1 to 2, 50 to 60 lbs., 103.00. Selection 2, 40 lbs., 93.00; 50 to 60 lbs., 96.00. Date: 9/21/06
