Presho cattle sales news

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,767 head Sept. 14, compared to 2,187 head last week and 1,096 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold steady strong. Mostly potloads on offer, one consignment of 850 head, another of 300 head. The offering included 89% steers, 11% heifers, with 100% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 13 head, 758 lbs., 124.25; 800 to 838 lbs., 120.50 to 124.40 (122.11); 854 to 897 lbs., 115.80 to 119.00 (117.86); 901 to 938 lbs., 114.30 to 117.60 (115.67); 6 head, 962 lbs., 109.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 25 head, 934 lbs., 111.00. Large frame 1, 53 head, 1015 lbs., 110.30.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 14 head, 771 lbs., 116.50; 84 head, 844 lbs., 112.60 to 114.10 (113.06); 865 to 898 lbs., 107.35 to 110.25 (108.37); 12 head, 983 to 990 lbs., 104.00 to 105.75 (104.87).
