Nebraka Corn Board elects officersNebraska Jon Holzfaster, Paxton, has been elected to serve as the Chairman of the Nebraska Corn Board for the 2006-2007 term. Holzfaster raises corn, popcorn, alfalfa, wheat, soybeans, dry edible beans and operates a background feed yard on the family farm based in Perkins County. Holzfaster is a LEAD XIII graduate and majored in Ag Economics at the University of Nebraska. Jon has represented District 8 for three years, and in addition to serving as chairman, serves on the NCB's Government Affairs and Executive committees. He also serves on the National Corn Grower Association's Ethanol Action Team. Stan Boehr of Henderson was elected as Vice-Chairman of the NCB. Stan produces corn and soybeans and operates a cow-calf business. In addition to being vice-chairman, Stan will chair the NCB's Government Affairs Committee and will serve on the Executive Committee. Stan is a graduate of Kearney State College with a degree in Business Education/Math. Bart Beattie was re-elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Beattie, from Sumner, will also serve on the NCB's Market Development Committee and the Executive Committee. He currently serves on the U.S. Meat Export Federation's Executive Committee. Bart raises corn, cattle and has a farrow-to-finish hog operation. He is a LEAD XXII graduate and majored in Agriculture at the University of Nebraska. The Nebraska Corn Board administers the corn checkoff program in Nebraska. Corn checkoff dollars are invested into programs of market development, promotion, research and education. Date: 9/22/06
