Woodward livestock market report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 5,640 head Oct. 20, compared to 6,645 head last week, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $1.50 to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were steady to $2.50 higher. Steer calves under 650 pounds were steady to $4 higher, heavier weights were steady to $2 lower. Heifer calves under 600 pounds were $3 to $7 higher, heavier weights were steady. Demand was good for all classes. Fill was average, few full. Quality was average to plain, few attractive. The supply was comprised of 60% steers, 36% heifers with 60% over 600 pounds.
