Stauffer Seeds offers new technology in corn hybridsStauffer Seeds, Carroll, Iowa, will offer five new corn hybrids for 2007 with new VecTran Technology, according to Mark Gruhn, Corn Product Manager for the company. VT Triple hybrids are available in limited release for the 2007 growing season. Gruhn said Stauffer Seeds will offer the new technology to growers in five hybrids with relative maturities ranging from 96 days to 117 days. --2414BWR (VT) RM96; --2415BWR (VT) RM97; --2704BWR (VT) RM111; --2721BWR (VT) RM114; --2816BWR (VT) RM117. VT Triple hybrids use new technology to insert multiple traits into the corn plant. The VT Triple hybrids contain a combination of YieldGard Rootworm corn with Roundup Ready 2 technology combined through breeding with YieldGard Corn Borer. YieldGard VT products provide greater consistency in performance, improved insect protection, and higher yield potential. VecTran Technology is a more precise agrobacterium-mediated insertion process for producing products that deliver stacked-trait hybrids. This delivery method is cleaner and more natural insertion process as compared to a gene gun. "Stauffer Seeds is proud to be among the few companies offering this new technology to their customers for planting in 2007," Gruhn commented. "We will continue to research and promote new technologies and new germplasm that is right for our customers. Our mission is to give our customers the best opportunity to earn a living we can."
