Presho cattle sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 1,220 head Oct. 19, compared to 1,020 head last week and 2,499 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $4 lower. Few potloads were on offer. Yearlings were small lots. The offering included 43% steers, 45% heifers, 12% bulls, with 4% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 425 lbs., 142.50; 454 to 462 lbs., 137.00 to 141.00 (140.54); 510 to 544 lbs., 121.35 to 125.25 (122.11); 553 to 570 lbs., 118.00 to 122.75 (120.74); 10 head, 621 lbs., 117.25 calves; 4 head, 663 lbs., 110.50 calves; 5 head, 1057 lbs., 89.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 9 head, 427 lbs., 132.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 407 to 444 lbs., 130.50 to 132.00 (130.77); 476 to 498 lbs., 118.85 to 125.50 (120.38); 17 head, 503 to 508 lbs., 119.00 to 120.25 (119.29); 554 to 576 lbs., 110.25 to 113.75 (112.56); 6 head, 843 lbs., 99.75; 9 head, 860 lbs., 94.75; 6 head, 1034 lbs., 86.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 16 head, 236 lbs., 270.00 per head; 58 head, 342 lbs., 121.50; 66 head, 415 lbs., 115.50; 21 head, 492 lbs., 117.75; 8 head, 561 lbs., 107.25.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 305 lbs., 130.50; 18 head, 364 lbs., 125.25; 59 head, 440 lbs., 118.25; 7 head, 579 lbs., 107.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 23 head, 244 lbs., 315.00 per head.
