Joplin feeder cattle report

The Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 3,700 head Oct. 23, compared to 4,000 head last week and 6,705 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers over 450 pounds were steady to $2 higher, under 450 pounds $3 to $6 higher, heifers were steady. Demand was moderate, supply was moderate to light. The feeder supply included 42% steers, 41% heifers, 15% bulls, with 24% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 ., 143.00 to 160.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 117.00 to 139.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 111.00 to 117.00; 600 to 660 105.25 to 113.00; lot 785 lbs., 106.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 235 to 270 lbs., 152.00 to 158.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 132.00 to 139.00, thin 142.00 to 158.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 111.00 to 134.00, lot thin 147.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 103.75 to 114.00; 600 to 650 lbs., weaned or thin 104.50 to 110.50, calves 98.00 to 103.00; 700 to 770 lbs., 96.00 to 107.50. Medium and large frame 2, 435 to 500 lbs., 104.00 to 117.00; 500 to 565 lbs., 101.75 to 105.00; lot 803 lbs., 101.00. Large frame 1, 330 to 400 lbs., 125.00 to 142.00; 400 to 455 lbs., 119.00 to 135.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 101.00 to 111.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 97.50 to 105.50.

Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 500 to 600 lbs., 79.50 to 85.00; package 1115 lbs., 65.00.
