Tulia livestock auction reportThe Tulia Livestock Auction Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 1,999 head Nov. 20, compared to 2,820 head last week and 2,869 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder steers were $3 to $5 higher. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds were mostly steady, over 600 pounds were $3 to $5 higher. Slaughter cows were steady to $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were $2 to $3 lower. Trade was active. Demand was good. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300- to 800-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 98% and slaughter cows and bulls 2% of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 49% of the run, heifers 51%, steers and heifers over 600 pounds totaled 46%.
