Sioux Falls sheep salesThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported receipts of 823 head Nov. 20, compared to 1,113 head last week and 498 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, slaughter lambs and ewes sold steady. Feeder lambs sold with a firm undertone noted on a narrow test. Buyer demand was good on all classes. The supply included 61% slaughter lambs, 19% slaughter ewes, 14% feeder lambs with the balance being mostly goats. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 125 to 127 lbs., 95.00; 5 head, 138 lbs., 95.00; 22 head, 180 lbs., 83.00. Wooled, Choice and Prime 2 to 3, 119 to 123 lbs., 91.00 to 94.00 (93.36); 132 to 146 lbs., 91.00 to 95.00 (93.27); 150 to 165 lbs., 90.00 to 93.50 (91.86). Slaughter ewes: Good 2 to 4, 14 head, 209 to 250 lbs., 27.00 to 31.00 (29.73). Utility and Good 1 to 3, 20 head, 142 to 156 lbs., 40.50 to 42.00 (40.92); 163 to 184 lbs., 37.50 to 43.00 (40.79). Utility 1 to 2, 130 to 140 lbs., 25.00 to 31.50 (28.75); 6 head, 161 lbs., 25.00. Cull 1, 2 head, 145 lbs., 22.00; 5 head, 192 lbs., 21.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 63 to 68 lbs., 108.00 to 109.00 (108.28); 16 head, 73 to 76 lbs., 101.00 to 112.00 (107.98); 90 to 91 lbs., 98.00 to 100.00 (99.43); 102 to 103 lbs., 97.50 to 99.75 (99.21).
