Pratt livestock auction report

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,882 head Nov. 16, compared to 2,071 head last week and 2,239 head last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing 300 to 700 pounds and feeder heifers at 300 to 600 pounds were not enough for a market test but a steady undertone was noted. Feeder steers weighing 700 to 950 pounds and feeder heifers at 600 to 900 pounds were steady to $1 higher in a light supply. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were not tested. Receipts included 65% 600 pounds and over, 23% 600 pounds and under, 12% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 62% steers and 38% heifers.
