Nebraska Wheat Board to meet Dec. 12, 13

The Nebraska Wheat Board has scheduled their next meeting on Dec. 12 and 13. The meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn, Kearney, in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Nebraska Ag Classic.

The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. on Dec. 12, 2006. The meeting will reconvene at 8 a.m. on Dec. 13. Agenda items will include reports on program activities in the areas of research and market development, reports on recent meetings and committee assignments. Officers from U.S. Wheat Associates and the National Association of Wheat Growers will report on recent activities. The public is invited to attend all or any portion of this open meeting. The Nebraska Ag Classic begins at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13. This event combines eleven agricultural organizations in one of the largest area conferences. Register for the Nebraska Ag Classic or review the program at www.neagclassic.org.

The Nebraska Wheat Board administers the one and one quarter cent per bushel excise tax levied on Wheat marketed in Nebraska. The Board invests the funds in programs of international and domestic market development and improvement, policy development, research, promotion and education.
