High Plains slaughter news

High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Nov. 19, totaled 211,489 head, compared to 140,238 head last week and 137,016 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 3,340 head, 1,225 to 1,500 lbs., 83.50 to 86.50 (85.11); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,171 head, 1,200 to 1,495 lbs., 83.00 to 87.00 (85.21); 35 to 65% Choice, 55,976 head, 1,050 to 1,475 lbs., 84.00 to 87.50 (86.59); 0 to 35% Choice, 11,483 head, 1,150 to 1,375 lbs., 82.00 to 87.25 (86.24).
