Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 4,678 head, May 18, compared to 5,780 head, last week and 4,967 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers weighing 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers weighing 700 to 900 pounds were $1 to $5 higher, 900 to 950 pounds were $2 lower, and 950 to 1000 pounds were $3 higher. Feeder heifers weighing 700 to 950 pounds were $1 to $5 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 87% 600 pounds and over, 7% 600 pounds and under, 6% cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 58% heifers and 42% steers.
