The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 900 head March 22, compared to 900 head last week and 900 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Compared to last week, no test on feeder cattle under 600 pounds. Feeder steers were steady, while feeder heifers in the 600 pounds were $2 to $3 lower. Heavier weights were steady. Feeders over 600 pounds made up 94% of the run. The offering included 53% feeder steers, 47% feeder heifers, with 94% over 600 pounds.
Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 539 lbs., 124.50; 20 head, 636 lbs., 120.50; 19 head, 642 lbs., 127.00 fancy; 11 head, 677 lbs., 118.50; 24 head, 721 lbs., 118.00; 29 head, 829 lbs., 101.50; 35 head, 882 lbs., 93.00; 909 to 937 lbs., 93.70 to 94.00 (93.79); 958 to 979 lbs., 90.30 to 91.00 (90.35). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 672 lbs., 112.25; 709 to 747 lbs., 106.00 to 113.25 (108.31); 755 to 757 lbs., 105.00 to 107.00 (106.14); 9 head, 1132 lbs., 83.10 fleshy. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 692 lbs., 87.50 fleshy; 5 head, 807 lbs., 91.00; 27 head, 840 lbs., 98.00 fleshy. Large frame 1, 5 head, 599 lbs., 121.00.
