The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 893 head March 20, compared to 2,367 head last week, and 1,730 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Compared to last week, lightweight steers were $3 to $5 higher. Few feeder steers were mostly steady. Lightweight heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Feeder heifers not well tested. It was a limited test due to the wet weather conditions. Quality was fair to attractive. Weigh-ups were mostly average. Very good demand with good attendance of buyers. Receipts were comprised of 54% steers, 38% heifers, 7% bulls 7, with 13% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to $1 lower. A total of 175 cows and bulls sold with 53% going to packers.

Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 335 to 345 lbs., 133.00 to 146.00 (143.17); 7 head, 450 to 495 lbs., 116.00 to 127.00 (121.93); 5 head, 500 to 545 lbs., 116.00 to 124.00 (118.87).

Medium and large frame 2, 4 head, 330 to 333 lbs., 129.50 to 136.00 (134.39); 9 head, 430 to 447 lbs., 116.00 to 121.00 (117.55); 13 head, 455 to 495 lbs., 100.00 to 116.00 (112.72); 7 head, 508 to 538 lbs., 107.00 to 114.00 (112.05).
Slaughter cows: Breakers, 5 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1350 to 1600 lbs., 48.00 to 51.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.00. Boners, 28 head, 80 to 85% lean, 990 to 1575 lbs., 51.50 to 55.00; low dressing, 46.50 to 50.00. Lean, 25 head, 85 to 90% lean, 925 to 1375 lbs., 50.00 to 53.50; low dressing, 45.50 to 49.00. Light, 20 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 975 lbs., 40.50 to 44.00; high dressing, 44.50 to 49.00; low dressing, 36.50 to 40.00.
Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 14 head, 1200 to 2625 lbs., 63.00 to 66.50; high dressing, 67.00 to 70.00; low dressing, 58.50 to 62.00.
Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 4 to 5 years old, 1000 to 1100 lbs., 3 to 7 months bred, average quality, 700.00 to 780.00; 8 to 10 years old, 1000 to 1325 lbs., 3 to 6 months bred, average quality, 675.00 to 790.00.
