Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 4,363 head, March 16, compared to 5,973 head, last week and 6,768 head, last year, according to the Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kan.
Compared with last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers weighing 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for a market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers weighing 700 to 1000 pounds were steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers weighing 700 to 950 pounds were $2 to $5 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 82% 600 pounds and over, 13% 600 pounds and under, 5% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 56% steers and 44% heifers.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 65.50 to 70.50 (67.03).
