Make the Switch to Soy Biodiesel sweepstakes winner announced

Untitled
Iowa

You may have seen one of the many billboards, commercials and fliers around the Des Moines metro area or throughout Iowa, encouraging people to "Make the Switch to Soy Biodiesel."

This campaign was created to make people aware of the many benefits of soy biodiesel, including reducing dependence on foreign oil, supporting soybean farmers throughout the Midwest, increased lubricity in vehicles while also being more environmentally friendly. In addition, the Iowa Soybean Association (ISA) encouraged the public to show their support of soy biodiesel by entering in a drawing for a two-year lease on a Jeep Liberty from Bud Mulcahy's Jeep, Des Moines, which would also come with $2,000 worth of soy biodiesel from Krueger's BP, Hwy. 141, Des Moines. Over 20,000 entries were received.

The winner was an ecstatic Cassie Cimaglia, 23, from West Des Moines, Iowa, who entered the sweepstakes online at www.iasoybeans.com. It was such good news, in fact, she had a hard time convincing everyone else of her prize.

"My husband thought I was kidding him," Cimaglia says, so she forwarded him the e-mail about the winning news. Cimaglia and her husband are both supporters of soy biodiesel.

The Iowa Soybean Association develops policies and programs that help farmers expand profit opportunities while promoting environmentally sensitive production using the soybean checkoff and other resources. The Association is governed by an elected volunteer board of 21 farmers.
