MFU announces third annual FFA essay contest$500 in prize money will be awarded to the FFA members who submit the winning essays in the third annual Missouri Farmers Union FFA essay contest. The contest entitled "Restoring Vitality to Rural Communities" is open to any FFA member who submits an original essay by April 21, 2006. "We are excited to offer this opportunity for FFA members to be rewarded for there creativity while exploring the importance of revitalizing Missouri rural communities and providing opportunity for the next generation of rural leaders," said Amy Meyer, outreach and communications director. Participants must be enrolled in high school vocational agriculture classes and be current Missouri FFA members. Winning essays will include experiences and/or visions from the student's personal perspective and community involvement. Entries must be 500 to 750 words, and must be postmarked by April 21, 2006. Essays can also be submitted to the MFU booth at the Missouri FFA Convention by 3 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006. Winning essays will be announced in May.
