Longer vaccination window allows flexibility, protection
Untitled
Pfizer Animal Health, New York, N.Y., now offers a longer vaccination window with its ScourGuard 3 (K)/C. The vaccination timing now coincides with premium colostral antibody formation in pregnant cows.
The new vaccination windows allows producers to vaccinate six to nine weeks prior to calving for the primary vaccination and three to six weeks prior to calving for the second vaccination. The additional weeks grant producers more flexibility with vaccinations, making it easier to fit ScourGuard into their herd management.
In repeated studies, ScourGuard 3 (K) and ScourGuard 3 (K)/C have shown the ability to increase antibody levels in the cow, her colostrum and the serum of calves that consume colostrum from vaccinated cows.
