The Honey Bee story

Untitled

Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd. is located in Frontier, Saskatchewan, which is in the southwest corner of the province. It all started back in the late 70s, when 2 brothers started building and manufacturing rod weeder attachments for chisel plows, on their farm just outside of Bracken, Saskatchewan. Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd., was incorporated in 1979, which is the same year Raymond Honey and his two sons, Greg and Glen, built a 500HP two-wheel drive tractor.

In 1980 the two brothers built a 67-foot self-propelled swather, a second two wheel drive tractor, and another self-propelled swather in 1982 measuring 75-feet in length. The first tractor mount swathers were built and sold in 1984 before moving to their operations at Frontier, Saskatchewan in 1987. Two years after the move the first high clearance swather/sprayer machine was built, followed by the first straight cut header for a pull type combine.

Since then, draper style headers have been built and have progressed over the years to what we now know as the Honey Bee Grain Belt Header, Grain Belt Swather, and Rice Belt Header. Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd., has continued to grow over the years selling headers and swathers in North America and in 10 other countries overseas.

This year Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd., is proud to announce the release of the 2006 Honey Bee Grain Belt Plus. This draper header utilizes a 'floating cutterbar' powered by airbags, which allows 4- to 6-inches of cutterbar floatation. This technology increases combine efficiency in crops that are harvested close to the ground.

There are many new features of the Grain Belt Plus such as:

--Automatic header height control and reel height control.

--New style reel arms.

--New style header frame which increases visibility and table capacity.

--Removable subframe/adapter/feeder deck.

--Wider opening to the adapter area and feeder house.

--Dual 42-inch feeder deck with a hydraulic trap door.

--V-guided canvases.

--100 percent hydraulic powered by one drive shaft; 100 percent reversible.

--Simplified hydraulics for reduced line loss and improved efficiency.

--Roller guided spacer bars on SCH cutting system.

These new features will allow the Grain Belt Plus to perform to the standards and expectations of the customers who rely on Honey Bee Manufacturing Ltd. to manufacture top of the line products. This table will be available in sizes ranging from 36- to 45- feed, and will utilize the increasing size and power of today's growing combines.
