South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending June 16, showed receipts of 3,500 feeder lambs and 400 replacement ewes, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas. Compared with last week feeder lambs steady. No recent comparisons on replacement ewes. Slaughter ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading and demand were moderate for moderate supplies. Due to dry weather many lambs are trading earlier and at lighter weights than normal. Feeder lambs: Texas, 3500 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop 60 to 80 lbs., 105.00 to 110.00; 80 to 90 lbs., 100.00 to 102.00. Replacement ewes: Texas, 400 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth, whiteface 60.00 to 65.00 per head. Date: 6/22/06
